The park was closed but only to vehicles (as the NPS ranger informed us). It was great to have a little stretch of road that was completely untrafficked by cars. ✌️🌲

Takayama had lots of iconic wooden buildings that created picturesque streets and helped the imagination transport you back to a different place and time.
Rainy Takayama. We stayed here a few days; the highlight was one particular dinner and the historic farm houses. There were also lots of sake breweries that hosted a myriad of tastings!
